Du Maurier, Daphne

Du Maurier, Daphne (1907–89) English novelist. Her romantic novels include The Loving Spirit (1931), Jamaica Inn (1936), The Glass Blowers (1936), Rebecca (1938), Frenchman's Creek (1941), and My Cousin Rachel (1951). She also wrote plays, short stories (including The Birds), and a biography of Branwell Brontë.
