Dos Passos, John Roderigo

Dos Passos, John Roderigo (1896–1970) US novelist. The first novel to attract critical acclaim was Manhattan Transfer (1925). His best known work is the trilogy United States (1930–36), in which he deploys innovatory techniques (such as stream of consciousness, news headlines and biographies) to portray early 20th-century American life. Later fiction includes the trilogy District of Columbia (1939–43).
