Bedouin
Bedouin Nomadic, desert-dwelling
Arab peoples of the Middle East and followers of
Islam. Traditionally they live in tents, moving with their herds across vast areas of arid land in search of grazing areas. Bedouin society is patrilineal. They are renowned for their hospitality, honesty and fierce independence. In the 20th century, many Bedouin have been forced to abandon their nomadic way of life, and now work in towns.
