Armistice Day

World Encyclopedia | 2005 | Copyright

Armistice Day Day of remembrance for the dead of the two world wars, held on November 11, the day World War I ended in 1918. In the USA, it was renamed Veterans' Day in 1954 in honour of the dead in all wars.
