Triassic
Triassic The earliest of the three periods of the
Mesozoic Era, which lasted from 248 Ma ago to 208 Ma ago. As a result of the mass extinctions of the late
Palaeozoic, Triassic communities contained many new faunal and floral elements. Among these were the ammonoids, modern corals, various molluscs, the dinosaurs, and certain gymnosperms.
