triclinic One of the seven
crystal systems, and the one with the lowest
crystal symmetry, characterized by three
crystallographic axes of unequal length, none of which are at right angles to each other. There is a centre of symmetry about which is oriented a pair of parallel faces. The
mineral plagioclase feldspar is the best-known example.
