box classification

box classification A remote sensing classification system in which a rectangular box is placed around digital number parameter space in a graph defining a certain training area (such as road). If the digital number values of the different bands plot to within that box then the pixel is assigned to that classification. See also MINIMUM-DISTANCE-TO-MEANS CLASSIFICATION; and MAXIMUM-LIKELIHOOD CLASSIFICATION.
