apparent resistivity (ρ) A measurement of resistivity which is calculated as the product of the measured resistance (
R) and a geomagnetic factor (

KgR, in units of ohms/m. It is important to note that the apparent resistivity is not an explicit measurement of the electrical resistivity of a material and should not be interpreted as being diagnostic of a given material.
