alluvial Applied to the environments, action, and products of rivers or streams. Alluvial deposits (alluvium) are
clastic,
detrital materials transported by a stream or river and deposited as the river flood-plain. The term is also applied to surface flow, as in
alluvial fans,
bajadas, etc.
