International Programme of Ocean Drilling

International Programme of Ocean Drilling (IPOD) An international project that evolved from the Deep Sea Drilling Programme, and was supported financially by the USA, USSR, West Germany, and France. The project has involved scientists from many countries, and the drilling and analysis of many deep boreholes in the deep sea and continental shelf areas.
