Tashlikh

Tashlikh. Jewish New Year ceremony. On the first day of Rosh ha-Shanah (or on the second if the first day falls on the Sabbath), the ceremony of symbolically casting sin into the sea is performed by running water. The tradition is not mentioned in the Talmud and may have a pagan origin.
