Shiromanī Gurdwārā Parbandhak Committee

Shiromanī Gurdwārā Parbandhak Committee (Pañjābī, ‘Chief Temple Management Committee’). Authoritative, elected Sikh body. The SGPC was established in 1920 during the Akālī movement for reform of gurdwārā management, and was legally recognized in 1925 by the Sikh Gurdwārās Act.
