Nirodha (Skt., ni + rodha, ‘obstruction’).
1. In Hinduism, the state of intense concentration in which the distinction of subject and object is destroyed, so that the mind attains realization of non-duality.

2. In Buddhism, the cessation of dukkha (the third of the Four Noble Truths); it is thus also equated with nirvāna.
