Ninety-nine beautiful names of God

Ninety-nine beautiful names of God. The names of Allāh in Islam, most of which are taken or derived from the Qurʾān. There are several different lists, and while each list contains ninety-nine names, there are variations in the lists. The names are called al-asmāʾ al-ḥusnā, from 7. 179. The names are divided into two categories, those of essence (al-dhat) and those of quality (al-ṣifāt). They are also divided into the names of mercy and the names of majesty (or judgement), al-jamāl waʾl-jalāl.
