Śakti (power) envisaged as a coiled snake at the base of the central channel (suṣumnā
nāḍī) in the mūlādhāra
cakra of
Tantric esoteric anatomy. Kuṇḍalinī
yoga is a means of attaining
samādhi and finally liberation in Tantric
sādhana. She is aroused by the arrest of breath and semen through
prāṇayāma and
mantra repetition (
japa). Kuṇḍalinī yoga is used by contemporary religious sects such as the 3HO and the Rajneesh movement.
