Moreau-Desproux, Pierre-Louis (1727–93). French architect. He designed the Hôtel de Chavannes, Boulevard du Temple, Paris (1756–8), which was praised by
Laugier as an example of the new ‘Greek’ fashion, although there was precious little Grecian about it apart from the bands of key frets under the first-floor windows. He refronted the Palais Royal, Paris, when he reconstructed the Théâtre de l'Opéra there (1763–70—destroyed 1781). He was guillotined in 1793.
