Yola

Yola , city, E Nigeria, a port on the Benue River. Cotton, peanuts, hides, and skins are shipped from Yola. The city is a road junction and has an airport; there is ferry service across the Benue. Yola was founded in 1841 as the capital of a Muslim Fulani state. The British captured Yola in 1901.
