Westborough

Westborough town (1990 pop. 14,133), Worcester co., E central Mass., on the Assabet River; inc. 1717. The town, which is largely residential, has tool and die making and produces electronic components, pharmaceuticals, computer software and networks systems, and other products. The birthplace of Eli Whitney , the inventor of the cotton gin, is preserved.
