Nathan Söderblom
Nathan Söderblom , 1866-1931, Swedish churchman, primate of the Lutheran Church of Sweden, archbishop of Uppsala. He was professor of the history of religion and from 1914 to 1931 vice chancellor at the Univ. of Uppsala. Söderblom was a leader in the ecumenical movement for the unification of the Christian churches. For his labors for international peace he was awarded the 1930 Nobel Peace Prize. Among English translations of his works are Christian Fellowship (1923), The Living God (1933), and The Nature of Revelation (1934).
