Saharanpur , city (1991 pop. 374,945), Uttar Pradesh state, N central India. Once a summer resort of the Mughal court, Saharanpur is now a district administrative center. A major road and rail junction, the city is an important agricultural market. Wood products are manufactured; there are railway workshops and cotton and sugar mills.
