Peter Pázmány
Peter Pázmány , 1570-1637, Hungarian churchman, cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church. Of a Calvinist family, he was converted to Catholicism in 1583, entered the Society of Jesus in 1587, and rose to become cardinal and prince primate of Hungary. He won back many Hungarians to the Catholic faith. He founded educational and monastic institutions.
