Gospel of Nicodemus book composed of the Acts of Pilate and Christ's Descent into Hell, part of the loosely defined New Testament Apocrypha. The Acts of Pilate is an amplified account of the trial, crucifixion, and resurrection of Jesus; it focuses on Pilate in its first section. Justin Martyr (fl. mid-2d cent. AD) refers to the Acts in Apology I, 35,48.
