Nampo

From: The Columbia Encyclopedia, Sixth Edition  |  Date: 2008

Nampo , formerly Chinnampo , city (1993 pop. 731,448), W North Korea, on Korea Bay (or West Korea Bay). It is the port city for Pyongyang and is also a leading metallurgical center. Other industries include shipbuilding, glassmaking, and electrode manufacturing.
