Elmer Adler

From: The Columbia Encyclopedia, Sixth Edition  |  Date: 2008

Elmer Adler ăd´ler , 1884-1962, American bibliophile and printer, b. Rochester, N.Y. From 1930 to 1940 he published The Colophon, a highly regarded quarterly of bibliographic research and information for book collectors; it was produced with fine printing. Adler became curator of the graphic arts department of Princeton Univ. in 1940, retiring in 1952.
