Myers, Rollo (Hugh)
Myers, Rollo (Hugh), English music critic and writer on music; b. Chislehurst, Kent, Jan. 23, 1892; d. Chichester, Jan. 1, 1985. He was educated at Balliol Coll., Oxford, and at the Royal Coll. of Music in London. From 1919 to 1934 he was the Paris music correspondent of The Times and the Daily Telegraph of London. He was on the staff of the BBC in London from 1935 to 1944. After serving as music officer of the British Council in Paris (1944–45), he returned to London as ed. of The Chesterian (from 1947) and of Music Today (from 1949).
