Isepp, Martin (Johannes Sebastian)

Isepp, Martin (Johannes Sebastian), Austrian pianist and harpsichordist; b. Vienna, Sept. 30, 1930. He studied at Lincoln Coll., Oxford, and at the Royal Academy of Music in London. In 1957 he joined the music staff of the Glyndebourne Festival, serving as head of its music staff from 1978 to 1993. From 1973 to 1976 he was on the faculty of the Juilliard School in N.Y. He became best known as an accompanist to many of the foremost singers of the day, including Dame Janet Baker, Hans Hotter, Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, and John Shirley-Quirk.
