Lupicinia-Euphemia (d. 523)

Byzantine empress. Name variations: Lupicina-Euphemia. Died in 523; m. Justin I (Flavius Justinus), Byzantine emperor (r. 518–527); children: adopted son Justinian I (a nephew of Justin's), Byzantine emperor (r. 527–565).

Before being purchased as a slave by Justin I, was a prisoner of war and camp cook; was known for her piety.
