Software Engineering Institute
Software Engineering Institute An organization founded by the US government in 1983 to develop the discipline of software engineering and to increase industrial awareness of it. The institute is part of Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh; it is financed partly by the US government and partly by private industry. Its best-known development is the Capability and Maturity Model.
