Rock Hill
Rock Hill, city (1990 pop. 41,643), York co., N S.C.; inc. 1870. An important textile center, it also has industries producing paper, glass, metal products, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, textiles, and food. A beautifully landscaped flower garden is in the center of the city. Rock Hill is the seat of Winthrop Univ. The county fair and a county horse show are held there annually. A 25-mi (40-km) long impoundment of the nearby Catawba River provides water recreation.
