Muzaffarpur (mŏŏzŭf´fəräpŏŏr), city (1991 pop. 241,107), Bihar state, NE India, on the Burhi Gandak River. It is the district administrative center for a litchi- and mango-producing area and is the site of Bihar Univ. Industries include cutlery manufacture and rice and sugar milling.
