Levite
Levite a member of the Hebrew tribe of Levi, especially of that part of it which provided assistants to the priests in the worship in the Jewish temple. In the story of the good Samaritan, a Levite is the second person to ‘pass by on the other side’ when seeing the traveller who has been robbed and assaulted.
