Trondheim
Trondheim City on the s shore of Trondheim fjord, central Norway, the third-largest city in Norway. Founded as Nidaros in 997, the city was the political and religious capital of medieval Norway. Until 1906, the kings of Norway were crowned in its 12th-century cathedral. The city exports wood and metal products. Industries: fish canning, brewing, electronics, shipbuilding, clothing, hardware. Pop. (2000) 148,859.
