The standard cost of this service was 3d - the price set by a cup of gin. A bed for the night cost usually 2d so one client paid for accomoodation. Here I show the streets today and name the killer. And rather than random killings by a psychopath, I suggest that Jack the Ripper was actually a person who killed purposefully and for a concrete reason. Until he failed in his goal. Most theorist have come up with rather silly suspects such as the Duke of Clarence, the son of the future Edward VII and heir to the throne, or William Gull the Queen's surgeon who just had had a heart attack. What is sure is that it was a man with an intimate knowledge of the area and who had his own place to return to in order to clean himself up afterwards.
