A Neo Nazi group known by the name of Initiative Süd West won a case on appeal in the German courts to march through the city of Mainz, Germany after the courts originally chose to forbid it back in April 2009. The slogan was to be 01. Mai 2009 - Sozial geht nur National (socialism can only work through nationalism) A word play on the socialist theme of the May 1st holiday. So a number of anti Nazi groups decided to take to the streets and prevent the march from even taking place. Together with the people of Mainz they took to the streets on May 1 2009... MAYDAY
