The White House announced that President Barack Obama will visit Fort Hood on Tuesday for a memorial service.
This is Obama's second trip to Texas since he became commander-in-chief. The first was a stop last month at Texas A&M, where he joined with the first President Bush to celebrate volunteerism and community service, marking 20 years of the Points of Light effort.
Once again, President Obama will have to fulfill the most painful presidential role, that of "consoler-in-chief."
