Ensiferum - Old Man (Väinämöinen)

The pics are from various websites, excluding the necklace, kantele and rowan pics which are my own. The paintings are from Robert Wilhelm Ekman (1808-1873), Axel Gallen (1865-1931), Mjud Metshev (1929-) and Kristian Wåhlin (1971-). The one with Väinämöinen standing arms spread is unknown. The rock carvings are located by the lake Ääninen in Carelia (The area where the ancient lore was believed to have taken place). By the way, the song's chorus "Sweeter far than life I found" doesn't relate to Väinämöinen but is a quote from J.L. Runeberg's poem "Cloud Fellow", which tells about a soldier in the War of Finland 1808-1809. Although it is known that the story of Väinämöinen and Aino was actually made up by Elias Lönnrot as he compiled the Kalevala, I decided to put it into the vid anyway, since it fits in a way to the chorus (although it was Aino who died).
