Steamtown Delaware Water Gap 09 Part 1

After much anticipation, Stall Five Productions was excited about the Steamtown trip from Scranton to the Delaware Water Gap for Founders Day. Canadian National 3254 did the honors working up the east side of the grade without a hitch to the Water Gap. The return trip, however, was full of surprises. Nickel Plate GP8 514 did the honors of pulling the excursion back to Scranton. Due to high speed on the return trip, it was learned that the #1 and #2 main bearings on CNR 3254 were completely burned up (as witnessed in Part 5). 3254 was dropped in Moscow and 514 pulled the train the remainder of the way. Upon arrving in Scranton, it was learned that 514 had a burned up traction motor and many of the brakes on the passenger cars had either burned up or cooked off. Needless to say, it was an eventful trip. Sit back, relax and enjoy the show.
