Fixed Action Pattern

This video shows a fixed action pattern in the Grelag goose. The goose will try to roll nearby eggs into its nest. After the egg is taken away, it will continue to try to roll the egg back into the nest, pulling its head back as if an imaginary egg is still being maneuvered by the underside of its beak. The goose will do this pattern for other types of objects as well, such as golf balls and door knobs. Re-encoded from original source: http://www.pigeon.psy.tufts.edu/psych26/fap.htm
