Constantinople the holy city of Christianity

Constantinople was the first christianic city. The city was colonized from ancient Greeks and it was called byzantium. In 330 AC the city took the name of the Greek emperor Constantine .Throughout most of the Middle Ages, Constantinople was Europe's largest and wealthiest city.Constantinople was the most glorious city . Churches had golden walls , there were also monuments from ancient Greece like the Great statue of Zeus one of the 7 wonders of the ancient world. Until 1453 Constantinople was the center of the whole world!!! In 1453 when Mehmet ii captured the city , Pope him self was about to organise a Crusade the worlds biggest Crusade but due to his death this Crusade never happened. Constantinople was also called City cause it was the most wonderful and the wealthiest city in Europe!!. Today constantinople is called istanbul which means ΕΙΣ ΤΗΝ ΠΟΛΗ ( In the city). There is nothing left to remain the lost glory on Constantinople. Even Saint Sophia the golden church , now is a ruin !!!!
