OS MAX .10 FP Stock engine

Here we have a very new, OS MAX .10 FP that we are breaking in for another experiment. Small engines like the .049 suffer from a unique malady. They typically have a glow head instead of a glow plug. When your glow filament burns out, one strategy has been to drill and tap the head to take a stock glow plug. It looks like a neat solution but the result is a loss of some 1,000 to 1,500 RPM out of a top end of 18,000. Not good. It appears that because of the relatively small combustion chamber, the threads themselves, somehow interfere with and hinder good combustion. The solution is to drill and tap for turbo plugs. These seal by way of a tapered seat at the tip of the plug. This isolates the threads and allows for a clean, combustion chamber. The result is no loss and even a gain in power. Naturally, it occurred to me, what if you installed a turbo plug. could you "recover" 1,000 rpm as with an .049? Well, we're going to find out. The Brodak .049 was taken from 12,000 RPM up to 13,500 RPM just with the addition of a turbo plug head button. From there, we installed the necessary components to convert this great little engine from a steel/iron engine into a modern, AAN engine and also turned it into an .06 The result of that was MUCH more power with an actual reduction in weight. From 12,000 to 19,900 a whopping 65% increase. That translates into about triple the HP and triple the thrust. We will be doing the same to this OS .10 engine and hopefully, getting similar results.
