How could the free world deny Taiwan its sovereignty? [台灣人民有自決之權利]

Taiwan (Formosa) was ceded in perpetuity to Japan by Manchu Qing Dynasity in 1895. At the end of WWII, the United State Military Government (USMG) became the principal occupying power over Taiwan - the Chinese ROC army never fought Japan in Taiwan. In 1952, in the San Francisco Peace Treaty, Japan declared that it would give up its sovereignty over Taiwan (Formosa) and the Pescadores islands. Although at the end of WWII, General D. MacArthur did issue an order to ROC's Chiang Kai-shek, asking him to send representatives to receive the surrender of Japan powers in Taiwan, the USMG never allowed ROC to take over Taiwan.
