He appears as a soloist with orchestras playing his "Songbook for Saxophone and Orchestra" and his Oriental Suite beside other works. He played Songbook in Germany and Switzerland on a tour with the NDR Radio Philharmonic in November 2006 and with the MDR Orchestra in 2008. In the Fall 2008 he tours with the Saarlaendische Rundfunk Orchestra as a soloist. Daniel toured Europe and Australia with his trio, featuring David Taylor and Kenny Drew jr., playing the music of Gershwin, Bach, Vivaldi, Wagner and Ellington in addition to his own new compositions bridging the worlds of classical music and jazz. He frequently performs with his special chamber music project for saxophone and string quartet, combining composition and improvisation, jazz and traditional chamber music. His third string quartet was commissioned by the Carmina Quartet, the 4th string quartet was a commission by the Amar Quartett, the 5th str 4tet a commission by the Stradivari Quartet. Mentors of the quartet include Sandor Vègh, members of the Amadeus and LaSalle quartets, and Nikolaus Harnoncourt, who in particular kindled a keen creative interest in authentic performance practice. In addition to an extensive quartet repertoire, the Carmina Quartet performs regularly with musicians such as Mitsuko Uchida, Elisabeth Leonskaja, Emanuel Pahud, Truls Mork, Wolfgang Meyer, Sabine Meyer, Antonio Meneses, Veronika Hagen, Olaf Bär und Wolfgang Holzmair. The Carmina Quartet has recorded a critically acclaimed series of CDs for Denon, which have received numerous awards, including a Gramophone Award, Diapason d'Or, Choc, Deutsche Schallplatten prize, and a nomination for a Grammy.As quartet in residence at the Musikhochschule Zürich/Winterthur, the Carmina Quartet brings its rich experience and its eloquent artistry to the next generation of musicians. Nina Corti As a soloist and with her ensemble dancer Nina Corti has performed in some 30 countries worldwide. She has appeared in many of the world's most famous concert halls as well as on numerous TV shows. Today she is considered internationally as being one of the most successful interpreters of Spanish dance. She has shared the stage with stars such as José Carreras, Maxim Vengerov and Roby Lakatos and danced to the music of renowned symphony orchestras such as the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra and Tonhalleorchester Zürich. A broad arts education in ballet, Spanish dance and flamenco enabled her at an early stage to devise Spanish-themed choreographies for classical music. In addition to her performances with flamenco ensembles she has produced programmes with piano trios, with special mixed ensembles featuring Spanish and classical musicians, with chamber and symphony orchestras, with big bands and, last but not least, with gypsy violinist Roby Lakatos and his ensemble.
