Gerard ter Borch II (1617- 1681) (Gerard ter Burg) Gerard ter Borch leerde het vak van zijn vader, en schilderde hoofdzakelijk genrestukken en portretten. Na enkele jaren bij Pieter de Molijn zijn landschappen van figuren voorzien te hebben, heeft Gerard veel gereisd. Zijn beroemdste schilderij "de vredesconferentie tussen Holland en Spanje" heeft hij nooit verkocht. Gerard ter Borch received an excellent education from his father, and developed his talent very early. He studied under Pieter Codde and Willem Duyster. Ter Borch excelled as a painter of genre subjects. He depicts with admirable truth the life of the wealthy and cultured classes of his time.
