Safe Passage - Adult Literacy Program

Safe Passage's Adult Literacy Program, founded in 2005, works in collaboration with CONALFA, the National Literacy Committee of Guatemala, which is an extension of the Ministry of Education. The Adult Literacy Program at Safe Passage applies CONALFA's standardized tests and three-level curriculum to enable students to advance by level and graduate with a state-recognized sixth-grade equivalency diploma. In June of 2009, nearly 70 mothers and fathers of Safe Passage children participate in the Adult Literacy Program.
