I Won't Back Down ~ Angry Tired Teachers ~

Angry Tired Teachers version of the Tom Petty song "I Won't Back Down," sung by Andrew Kong Knight, from the Angry Tired Teachers album "Stickin' it to the Man." This video shows rare historical clips of the band from the "Stickin' it to the Man" recording sessions. It includes clips of live performances from the recent Hayward Unified School District teachers strike. Also featured are recently unreleased film clips portions of which had been withheld under the claim that releasing them would "endanger the national security." With the help of the ACLU of Southern California, Alani Rose sued the FBI under the Freedom of Information Act, asking the courts to order release of the withheld portions of the Angry Tired Teachers FBI video file footage. On Feb. 26, 2009, the FBI agreed to release the five Mini-DV videos that were still being withheld, bringing to an end 5 years of litigation. This extremely rare, never-seen-before footage of "I Won't Back Down" is from the "Cuts Hurt/ Budgetwelooza Tour" in which the band rolled across the state playing protests and rallies in Hayward, Oakland, San Francisco, Los Angeles and the State Capitol in Sacramento.
