The Idiot (2003) (English subtitles). Part 8/10 (5/5).

The Idiot (2003) (English subtitles). Part 8/10 (5/5). The Idiot (ИДІОТЪ) is a costume drama TV series produced by TV Channel "Russia" in 2003 based on Fyodor Dostoevsky's novel with the same title. The series was branded by the novel's original pre-1920's orthography title "идіотъ" (in all caps) instead of the current "идиот" as one will find it on the bookshelves in Russia (to promote the atmosphere of the tsarist time when the film's plot takes place). The series consists of 10 sequels each approximately 50 minutes. The series has a very good cast. Both, the actors suit the characters from the novel well by appearance, and, especially act with a grand finesse, bringing not only life, but more: credibility to the utterly complex characters of Dostoevsky's. ================== Crew: Scriptwriter and director: Vladimir BORTKO Cinematographer: Dmitry MASS Production Designers: Vladimir SVETOZAROV and Marina NlKOLAYEVA Music by lgor KORNELlUK Producer: Valery TODOROVSKY Cast: Yevgeni Mironov as Prince Myshkin Vladimir Mashkov as Parfyon Rogozhin Lidiya Velezheva as Nastassya Filippovna Olga Budina as Aglaya Yepanchina Inna Churikova as Lizaveta Prokof'yevna Oleg Basilashvili as General Yepanchin Vladimir Ilyin as Lebedev Aleksandr Lazarev Ml. as Ganya Ivolgin Andrei Smirnov as Totsky Anastasiya Melnikova as Aleksandra Yepanchina Rasina Tsydalko as Adelaida Yepanchina Sergei Muchenikov as Yepanchin's Footman Aleksei Petrenko as General Ivolgin Mikhail Boyarsky as Keller Larisa Malevannaya as Nina Aleksandrovna © TV Channel "Russia", 2003. ================== Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research.
