Dumaguete Flashflood

Here you will see a short clip of the probably first ever flash flood in Dumaguete last February 7th (Saturday). This was due to the nonstop rain (which wasn't heavy at all) which started Friday evening and went on for almost 24 hours. I've never seen anything like this in my whole life living in this city. The water just outside our gate was almost a knee deep but the other places were worse. Lots of houses destroyed and some lives lost. Some parts of Negros had landslides, too, which hindered the public vehicles from traveling in the same route. In the evening I was privileged to visit Candau-ay and help some friends. I couldn't believe my eyes! The place was a total wreck! The current of the water in the river was so big it damaged the dikes and the surrounding houses. I feel very sad about the calamity. I have after-shock feelings still. Let's pray for those victims of this calamity for their recovery and for those who lost their love ones for their comfort. I am thankful we were safe and protected by the hand of God during these times to be able to help others. I feel very blessed to hear and obey the warning of these "signs of the times" through the 72-hour kit.
