Tutankhamen's hoard: booty of French officer in Egypt?

Has history been tampered with? No one knows why Napoleon insisted on conquering Egypt. The ostensible aims were to wrest control of the Indian Empire from the hands of the British. They returned to France in time for a triumph and produced 22-volumes of Descriptions de L'Egypte. It is also well known that high ranking French military were not above pillage of Egyptian rarities, some of hoarded to be taken to France at a more propitious time. Bad luck for these collectors was that at the sea battle at Aboukir Bay French military fleet was completely annihilated by the British. French army got stuck for 3 years. There are reasons to believe that the Tutankhamen's treasure is one of such hoards...and that Carter knew where to dig..
