Deviance is some departure from the normative order Notice not abnormal but the normative order. c. In this brief overview Ill look at only a part of deviance basically three things 1. Deviance isnt always bad. 2. Deviance may be primary or secondary 3. And deviance has at least two seemingly contradictory functions
