Langlais Pipe Organ in Pau, France Pasticcio

A little French pastry, recorded by Marie Ducrot at the Church of St. Martin in Pau. It's a lovely city in the far southwestern part of France, in the foothills of the Pyrenees. Pau (rhymes with "no") is very popular with British ex-pats. Great climate, good food, and not too far from Bordeaux or Toulouse for big-city stuff. I know next to nothing about this organ, and, as you can see from the shortage of pictures, the church is one of the most under-photographed in France. The basis for the current organ was installed in 1871 by Georges Wenner. It was renovated 3 times prior to this recording -- and there was another restoration in 1997, when a second console in the nave & 4 ranks of chamade reeds were added. I'm uploading the Pasticcio, not because of the instrument, but because the piece is almost never recorded -- which is a shame.
